I use water and a microfiber cloth designed as a facecloth and sometimes a soap-less skin cleanser.

I use a foaming facial cleanser (or a gel cleanser) that come in a pump-dispenser plastic bottle. However, starting with my last purchase of this type of product, I will no longer buy products that come in a *soft plastic bottle (those ones with a cap but that taper to a long, flat top), as they are not recyclable; at least the hard plastic bottles are recyclable. However, something I would always consider purchasing any personal hygiene products (like body wash, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, etc.) that come in a compostable or other environmentally-friendly packaging.

I use a sensitive skin cleanser with AHA & BHA. Every few days, I use a salicylic acid cleanser to keep my mask acne under control. I would love a plastic-free version of either (preferably both) style cleanser. I'm super picky about what goes on my face, and that's been my one product I'm willing to purchase with plastic packaging- I hope one day to have a superior face cleanser with eco-friendly packaging.

I use warm water and a facecloth; always have. I am lucky to have sensitive skin that won’t let me do anything else.

I have a mix of facial products in plastic and glass packaging. I am finishing up the products in plastic bottles and then looking for only glass or bar soap alternatives. The biggest concern is finding something that works, is price friendly, and is easy to store without being messy. In the shower, I use bar soap for washing and would love a similar alternative for hair cleansing/conditioning to reduce packaging as long as they worked well. I'm open and ready to make a change toward reducing the plastic! Thank you!

I’ve stopped using facial cleansers, shower gel and hand soap that come in plastic. Using bar soap.

Serum from glass eyedropper “jar” and Pacifica lotion (from plastic pump. Really looking for ultra-sensitive eczema-type cream for eye area.

I don't wear any makeup so I just use a fresh squeezed lime and rinse with water. Bonus: fresh lime juice is also the best natural deodorant I have found for myself. Then the lime wedge goes in the compost.

Always happy to try new.

I am finishing up several products. Then, I will be switching to products recommended by EWG (Environmental Working Group). I like one that has done much research on the best containers for the environment.

I wash my face and shave with shampoo (from a plastic bottle) and then i use a grapefruit facial wipe before bed (from a plastic dispenser bag. So i'm up for a change as long as it's effective and not prohibitively expensive. Current routine costs @ $.05/day

I use Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser, but not every day. I don't wear much make-up. I would be willing to try something that didn't come in a plastic container

I don't use a lot of makeup so a hot wash cloth very little soap followed by a splash of cold water to close the pores. For a moisturizer, I use only olive oil or coconut oil which keeps my skin taut and smooth.

I use Erase Your Face cloths without any cleanser and they are excellent at removing makeup. Other than the plastic packaging the four cloths came in, I no longer have any plastic associated with washing my face.

I currently use a Curology cleanser, in a plastic bottle. I would definitely try a non-plastic cleanser as long as there are different options for different skin types.

My favorite cleanser is the Meyer Lemon Creamy Cleanser from Andalou. It’s super gentle, but removes makeup and doesn’t leave any residue (nor does it leave my skin feeling stripped). I really hate the plastic packaging though, so I recently switched to the cleanser from the Refill Shop. Bar cleansers just don’t cut it for me, so if you guys could come up with something like Andalou but packaged like your dish soap, I’d totally switch!

I’m finishing what I hope will be the end of my Mary Kay facial cleanser and moisturizer. I liked the product but not the plastic tubes. I don’t have skin problems anymore so a nice facial scrub and a good moisturizer. I saw an ad for these products in refillable aluminum containers from a company I haven’t tried at all. I think my face could be cleaned with a bar but I’m not sure how you contain the moisturizer. I really don’t want to purchase another plastic tube or bottle.

I just finished the last of my Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser, which I was very happy with but it comes in a plastic bottle. Now I have Meow Meow Tweet's Tea Tree and Charcoal Face Bar. What I'm looking for in a face soap is efficacy. I need it to be non-comodogenic, good for sensitive skin (I have eczema), and good for "mature" skin. No wrinkles on me yet but goodness knows I'm not trying to contribute to getting them!

I use Hawaiian Healing products. They are packaged in glass and bamboo. My skin is very finicky...lots of allergies and sensitivities both natural and chemical. So far this is the only product line my skin agrees with but I always keep an open mind!

Every other night, I use soap w/o the chemicals (super sensitive skin in all the usual places) and no lavender (allergic) and water. For a quick night, I use a generic sensitive skin facial wipe (most of the name brands I'm unable to use due to various chemicals or perfumes they utilize). Would love a sensitive skin wipe that is also biodegradable!

Ethique brand bliss bar - initially because the entire brand is plastic free, but then I fell in love with it. My skin is so happy and healthy looking!

June 19, 2020
I use an Aveeno Salicylic Acid Cleanser at night and a St. Ives Apricot Scrub in the morning. They are both packaged in plastic and I wish they weren’t. I need something for oily skin and mild acne prevention, but that also leave my skin feeling clean and moisturizer. I would definitely be open to trying something different.

June 19, 2020
I use a generic version of Cerave cleanser, which is a liquid cleanser packaged in plastic. I would like to have an option that: I could use even though I have rosacea (can’t contain traditional soap), did not come in a plastic container, was not scented and cost less than $15. I tired of the pink tax and also the idea that folks who care about the environment have tons of money to spend. Thanks for all you do!

I am on an environmentally friendly kick right now. I’ve ditched those make up remover discs but still use creams that I try to buy responsibly and locally but they come in either plastic or glass packaging. I would love good quality products, not tested on animals, and packaged - and delivered - responsibly. I am already a customer and so will support you in your efforts. However quality is something that must not be left behind. Looking forward to what you will have to offer! Go Etee 😊

Sukin Signature Foaming Facial Cleanser and yes it's a plastic pump bottle.

I would love to find a plastic free option. For me, the most important points are that there are no fragrances or essential oils, and that the cleanser is as gentle as possible, all of which have proven very difficult to find in a zero waste form.

The brand I currently use is andalou naturals, which is a liquid soap in plastic,

Claudia

I use Senka Perfect Whip. I used to use CeraVe Foaming Cleanser but am boycotting Nestle products. I would love a plastic-free, cruelty-free, budget-friendly option but just have not had much luck with the options I have tried. Or even just a concentrate or refill option that would let me reduce my plastic use and potentially use my own jar.

June 19, 2020
I use Tom’s of Maine Olive/Vitamin E Bar, comes in a box but wrapped in plastic. It’s getting hard to find.
Would like to go to organics and stop using all plastic but it is hard to find in stores and usually out of my budget. There’s more choices on line but with the high prices + shipping way out of my budget! I do the best I can by using less in everyday life. (More companies need to start using eco friendly packaging.)

I'm currently using 2 different types of facial soap bars. (from eBay & Etsy) I have an old plastic toner bottle that I filling with my own DYI toner ( essential oils and witch hazel and other astringents ) I use reusable facial pads, still using leftover night cream, but use SPF face sunscreen in a tin case for my morning moisturizer. If suitable options for plastic-free for my face occurs, I'm interested, it would have to be natural, vegan and cruelty-free

Right now I am using Bert's Bees cleanser daily, which is sold in a plastic container. I am transitioning and looking for "clean" products to use on my aging skin. I am very interested in neem oil, jojoba oil, other ayuvedic products. Lots of information in other cultures that could be used. I think refillable containers are a good idea if the health department will let such things happen.

I only use philosophy products, my hands, and warm water. I love the cleanser, purity, have tried many others, don’t like them. Yes, all packaged in plastic. What would make me switch to skin care not in plastic? Philosophy would have to get rid of plastic containers. Sorry, I choose quality of product over saving the earth

Depending on what my combo skin needs, I use 3 different products, as needed. Two companies I use have 5 or less ingredients! All products come in glass for easy recycling/repurposing. Learned how to make my own products now, as well, to care for the problems that have flared up due to health issues. All 100% organic. All 100% recyclable!

June 18, 2020
I use a Mary Kay Natural Line cleanser (packaged in plastic) because it’s gentle on my sensitive skin while still cleansing fully. I would love to find something that does the same, has a short list of simple and natural ingredients, and is not packaged in plastic!

Eleanor

June 18, 2020
At the moment I use a mild bar soap and face cloth. What keeps me from buying your products is having to pay in US dollars. The ding of the exchange rate is significant. Do you wholesale to anyone?

I have used many things over the years and have recently started looking for skincare products that are:
-good for sensitive skin
-don’t contain the nasty chemicals we’re all trying to avoid
-packaged sustainably
-preferably made locally.

I currently use a gentle lotion cleanser, Firming serum, and and a lotion moisturizer for sensitive skin.

I’m game to try something. Bring it on.

I use a daily cleanser and a few time a week a facial scrub. Then I put on eye cream and a light moisterizer for dry/oily sentisitive skin combination. It comes in plastic and is sold in very small amounts so that the plastic use is excessive. I would love a natural refillable alternative.

Liza Baron

June 18, 2020
I use a cruelty-free, all natural, safe cleanser almost daily on my face. It does come in a non-refillable plastic pump bottle. I would be glad to try something new, but I would need to try a free or low-cost sample first.

Jennifer

June 18, 2020
I use a cleanser and moisturizer for sensitive skin (mild rosacea). Both come in nonrefillable plastic pump bottles. I’d love to change, but would need a sensitive skin formula.

June 18, 2020
I use a microfiber cloth and warm water. It works on waterproof mascara as well as what's on my skin. After sweaty yard work, etc., I do lightly scrub with a complexion brush and mild soap, followed by the microfiber cloth.

June 18, 2020
I use Clean & Clear essentials foaming cleanser every morning and evening, followed with toner, moisturizer, and sometimes other products. Almost all of them come in plastic bottles/packaging and I’d love a plastic alternative! I’d be open to trying bars or other gel cleansers, but it would need to be fragrance free :)

Rachel

June 18, 2020
My skin is sensitive and can be dry, so I look for fragrance free and without harsh chemicals. Lather is not important to me as long as it can effectively dissolve makeup. I also need it to be safe for the eye area, as I dont like to use separate eye-makeup remover; I want one -step cleansing. I am currently using Carina Organics unscented face cleanser but wish they had a refill option, as it is in a plastic pump. I also typically use a microfibre face cloth to rinse my face.

Dina

June 18, 2020
My skin is mature, dry, and super sensitive. I must use something fragrance-free, non-allergenic, and mild. Only a handful of brands don't irritate my skin. A cream can get contaminated in a jar, so it must be a bottle, but I'd consider a bar. Non-plastic packaging would be a plus -- very hard to find. I use soft bamboo washcloths.

Kirsten

June 18, 2020
Right now I am doing the double cleanse method and use a Japanese cleansing oil and foaming cleanser. This Japanese brand offers refill pouches, which is I hope a little better than buying a new bottle each time. For me to try something new, it would HAVE to be 100% fragrance-free and as well as free of essential oils and sensitizing ingredients, period. Those items do not belong in skincare, no matter how "natural" they are and a dermatologist will tell you the same. No irritating ingredients, just gentle and mild, please.

Melissa

June 18, 2020
I use a bar facial cleanser and have been experimenting with making my own oil mixture to get away from moisturizers than come in plastic bottles.

Maryanne

June 18, 2020
I use something super oily to remove makeup and dirt, and something super creamy oily to moisturize my skin to sleep in.

I use an Osage orange cleanser but it does come in a plastic bottle. Also use a microfiber washcloth with water.

Cassandra

June 18, 2020
I’ve tried all kinds of products to clean my face and have never found a great one. I’d be open to a bar or something in a glass container but it has to withstand being left in the shower.

Kimberly

June 18, 2020
Yes! It really bothers me - all the plastic we use regularly. I would welcome a solution that is good for aging, mature skin 😊

Teresa

June 18, 2020
I use avocado oil and a facecloth. I would be open to a cleanser that is oil based with maybe some essential oils. It would smell better!

Christina

June 18, 2020
I use Micellar Water, then CeraVe. I would LOVE a bar of oil-based cleanser. Something that will remove dirt and makeup. I would love if the oil was something sustainable and inexpensive like primrose, almond, sunflower, or grapeseed. Maybe with some skin calming ingredients as well like oatmeal or chamomile. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

In the shower are used a essential oil’s bar soap or a Ayurveda soap. However at the sink I use just water or Neutrogena facial soap in a plastic bottle. Would love a natural soap at all the sinks and showers. Then we use a facial moisturizer with SPF 30 from a plastic bottle.

Sheryl

June 18, 2020
My husband and I use Chandrika Aruyvedic bar soap for face and in the shower. They cost about $1 per bar and they are wrapped in some type of paper (I think it is a bit waxy?). It has a great smell and no residue.

Doris

June 18, 2020
As a senior, I use a mild facial cleanser. I would LOVE being able to buy a cleanser that does not come in a plastic container. Same with a toner and moisturizers, both daytime with SPF of at least 30 and a nighttime one. Thanks.

Holly Kanz

June 18, 2020
I use Mad Hippie cream cleanser. It comes in a glass pump bottle—I searched for non-plastic packaging. I love it but it’s expensive. What I’d really like is a good natural easy to apply sunscreen. The ones I’ve recently found in non-plastic packaging are either really hard to apply or don’t work very well.

Alba sensitive skin wash in a plastic pump.

Jess

June 18, 2020
I use a "brightening facial scrub" from Acure about every other day. It makes my skin feel soft rather than stripped of its beneficial oils. It comes in a plastic squeeze bottle, which I'd love to be able to refill rather than buy new every time.

Isha

June 18, 2020
We've been trying to use face bars, but they fade away in the shower and are expensive. Also our faces are sensitive, so we do have a bottled facewash that we are using. I'm just now trying one that's in an aluminum bottle. I'd love a gel cleanser that works with my skin that is more sustainable.

June 18, 2020
I use a vitamin C gel cleanser by Avalon Organics. It comes a in pump plastic bottle. I love a gel cleanser better than anything else bc it’s cleaning but not stripping like soap, and leaves the skin supple and moisturized. Ingredients are organic and and it smells great! would love if you guys made something similar!

Heidi

June 18, 2020
I use a washable make-up removing cloth from Ulta. It is great, but I'd support a small business like yours in a heartbeat if you had something comparable! I also use Naked & Thriving facial oil in a glass bottle:)

Sue

June 18, 2020
I use cleanser by Christina Moss Naturals because it's one of the few that does not clog my pores and I've tried a lot of different cleansers. Yes, it comes in plastic and I would love to change that if I could find something that works for me. It would need to be natural (organic) and eco-friendly but gentle.

Roseanne

June 18, 2020
I mostly just use a facecloth with water.
If I have make up on which is not often I use Micellar water.

Terry

June 18, 2020
I use Cetaphil, but hate buying the plastic bottles. Would love a different packaging.

Bonnie

June 18, 2020
I am finishing a plastic tube of face wash from Kiehl’s and plan to replace with a bar. I have eczema and dry/sensitive skin so will need an alternative. Am currently replacing everything that is contained in plastic with earth-friendly packaged goods. Even making my own breads. So PLEASE make an alternative!!!!

Steffanie Peevers

Cara Brzezicki

June 18, 2020
I am 39 and I live in dry Colorado. I use Juice Beauty because it is organic, animal friendly, and they are eco-conscientious. But, they do use recycled plastic tubing. Because it is so dry here, I use oil to wash my face. I know that sounds counter-intuitive, but it is amazing!! I use anti-aging products too from there. I try to take care of my skin and my face regiment is super particular. I would love if you could figure out something that was eco-friendly, organic, animal friendly, and age-defying.

Laura

June 18, 2020
I use a hot water face cloth, and then Best Skin Ever face oil in a pump bottle; very happy.

June 18, 2020
I use Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub and yes, unfortunately it comes in plastic. I would love to see you come out with something similar in a glass jar or other biodegradable container.

Annette Lampson

June 18, 2020
I use a very luxurious, completely natural product from Germany called Dr.Hauschka products. The containers are glass or metal tubes. It is very expensive, so I don’t use it more than 2-3 times a week.

June 18, 2020
It would take something that is both environmentally and animal friendly!

Sara Lindell

Gail Bennett

June 18, 2020
I’m 63. I haven’t used bar soap in many years. Have Used Obagi for 13+ years - gentle liquid in plastic container.
Now for past several months use neutrogena gentle liquid cleanser in plastic pump container. When that runs out IM DONE. I will not buy another plastic container of face wash.

Wendy Gehring

June 18, 2020
I use only nontoxic skin care products. At night I double cleanse, first with oil, then with a lotion. Both are packaged in glass, which is recyclable. Then a toner, also in glass. In the morning maybe only water, maybe exfoliate in the shower. I go for products in glass now, as a conscious choice.

Denise

June 18, 2020
I would like a toner without chemicals, a witch hazel base, perhaps. And yes, recyclable/refillable.

susan

Jeanne Wishengrad

June 18, 2020
I am 56 and have very dry skin and roseacea. I have used facial oil to clean my skin for several years and it works really well. Lately I have just been using almond oil that I purchase in bulk from my local health food store. It would be nice to find something that's just a little thinner than almond oil, but I'm not going to spend a ton of money and I hate packaging - so it's gonna be hard to get me away from health food store almond oil. Good luck.

As a white woman with oily, sensitive skin who wears sunscreen daily, I require a cleanser that meets the following criteria:
1. liquid, low ph (4.5-5; bar soaps are too alkaline, and generally have comedogenic bases)
2. no irritating essential oils (many "natural" cleansers tend to be full of essential oils that cause skin reactions)
3. effective enough to remove makeup, and oil-based cleansers as part of a double-cleanse
4. vegan

In the morning, I usually do a gentle massage with micellar water, rinse, and moisturize if necessary.
In the evening and/or after working out, I use derma-e hydrating gentle cleanser (https://dermae.com/collections/cleansers/products/hydrating-gentle-cleanser?variant=26219167688).
It meets all of the criteria, and doesn't hurt my skin (though I wish it didn't have the unnecessary added fragrance).

Those of you familiar with r/skincareaddication know that many people love the CeraVe cleansers (https://www.cerave.com/skincare/cleansers) because they are inexpensive, generally non-irritating, non-comedogenic, and effective at removing makeup. All of these cleansers have recyclable plastic bottles, but the pumps definitely end up in landfills. I'd gladly swap my cleanser for one in a non-plastic container if I the alternative works, is vegan, and doesn't cause allergic reactions or breakouts.
