Help make our pods smell better!

I’ve never been put off by the scent of the cream. And it seems difficult to come up with something that will work for the majority and not cause problems/allergies for the few. I recommend leaving it alone. Perhaps an explanation of the beeswax pod might work?

My recommendation (and request): do not add an essential oil to the pods. While the smell of the moisturizer was a bit odd at first, it mostly smelled of beeswax and I quickly got used to it. I no longer noticed the scent after a week.
The problem with essential oils is that they are some of the most high skin irritants around! They are not unlikely to cause contact dermatitis. And clearly, the pods’ composition does impact the moisturizer (residual smell does mean that there is some substance from the pod that is transferred to the moisturizer). Adding essential oils to the pod will cause the moisturizer to carry trace amounts of these essential oils – this means the moisturizer will a) be fragranced, and b) no longer be suitable for sensitive skin due to the essential oil presence.
There is the unfortunate misconception that essential oils are the end-all-be-all and can do no wrong, when in fact they can be highly irritating, and increased exposure to them can lead to sensitization. I love them, but they are often not suitable for direct application to the skin – and especially not delicate or sensitive skin, such as the face. Additionally, they could introduce an allergen to a formula that otherwise would be safe for someone.
Honestly, I would probably have to stop purchasing the moisturizer if you added essential oils to the pods. Sensitization is such that even a small amount of essential oil presence can cause an eczema-type reaction. I would much rather have a moisturizer that smells of earthy beeswax that is negligible, than have a moisturizer that could cause a skin reaction.

I haven’t noticed the smell of the pods, especially once I put the moisturizer in a jar. I’d prefer not frankincense, but pretty much any of the others would be okay.

Please do not use Bergamot or Rose. I can’t stand those smells. Lavender would be good, but the best smell would be something citrusy- grapefruit (the best) or orange. Not lemon.

Anything but frankincense!

Looks like I’m in the minority – I dislike lavender and rose!

I did notice a small aroma I couldn’t place. The problem I have with adding something is allergies. Example, lavender. Some of us might be allergic.
So any changes please make sure you state if they change.

I think Bergamot might have the most appeal for most of the people. Anybody’s guess, though, probably!

I have to say I do not smell an odor coming from the moisturizer. I love this product – it’s one of my etee favorites! If you had to add a ‘scent’ I would pick lavender, but my preference would be to leave it as it is. The pods have their own kind of smell, sort of like beeswax, but once you put the moisturizer in the jar, the scent is gone. It’s a great product – leave it ‘bee’ :)
